With experience across energy storage project development, asset optimization and wholesale energy trading in various US power markets
Mr. Mcsweeny-Pourtalet is responsible for undertaking and managing financial and commercial modeling efforts to support business case evaluations for new project developments, identifying new opportunities and developing strategies for commercializing storage and other technologies as well as developing and maintaining a strong knowledge base of battery storage vendor options and operational performance
• Asset Trade Manager within the trading arm of German utility RWE, he lead the commercial operation of the company’s first utility-scale energy storage projects in various US wholesale power markets including CAISO and ERCOT.
• Mr Mcsweeny also supported the initial kickoff of RWE’s energy storage division in the US and led commercial and technical modeling efforts for greenfield project developments and M&A opportunities.
• Holds a Master of Science from Stanford University and a Diplome d’Ingenieur from Ecole Centrale Paris. Mr Mcsweeny is also a fellow of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI).
