Dave Roberts is Founder and Managing Principal of Amanecer Ventures. Private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies retain him for commercial diligence on industrial software and energy technology targets, go-to-market rebuilds after close, interim CEO and CRO mandates, and board and chair roles through the hold period. Recent and current engagements span US and European sponsors, infrastructure asset managers, and the companies they own.
He serves on the board of Ensights AI, where he works with the founders on category positioning, US market entry, and the operating discipline behind the company’s distributed energy buisness management platform. Ensights pairs that platform with ISOgrid, an isolation architecture that lets operators act on distributed assets without exposing the control path. He runs a deliberately plural portfolio, holding founder and interim operating roles at two other companies building the data and control layer for renewable and industrial fleets, alongside the sponsor advisory practice.
Dave has spent 25 years building the software and data infrastructure that renewable and industrial operators run on. At OSIsoft he built the enterprise business that took the PI System into the majority of the world’s largest wind fleets, growing the company from roughly $100M to more than $380M in revenue ahead of its $5B acquisition by AVEVA. At Power Factors he scaled the asset management platform from $3.5M to more than $55M ARR with over 300 GW under management. He served as Interim CEO of SkySpecs for Goldman Sachs.
